Looking at buying one. I have an NP-34 but would like something with a longer barrel for more accuracy. I have my sights set on the NZ75/85 and the 9mm 1911 specifically. Are there any reliability problems? Howabout finish and sights? Which is the overall "best value" or "best copy?"

The NZ-85b has a slightly nicer finish than the 1911, it is a pain to rack the slide, otherwise an excellent gun.

Do a search (PLEASE) for the NP29 threads and comments on this forum ! You will find lots and lots of positive feedback regarding the NP29. I've got one and I love them.

Hi, I have read extensively about both the NP29 and the NZ. That's what makes it so hard to decide! The Czech copies are said to have good finish, good accuracy, comparable to the original Czech, some extractor/spring problems. NP29 is said to be low-recoil, accurate, durable. Hard to choose. Though wouldn't the NP29 mags be proprietary? And same for NZ-40?

Ah yes, the above post and a search reveals that the NP-29 takes other mags such as .38 super mags. That's good. CZ 9mm would take CZ mags. So they both can take aftermarket and originals, but what about the .40 CZ copy?
