Which is your Single Favorite Milsurp in your Collection and Why?

I have and have had dozens of milsurps, the one that stands out is my favorite over all of my firearms, milsurps or not, is a 1953 Hungarian M44 Mosin that has been touched lightly by bubba with peep sight, Monte Carlo synthetic stock and an adjustable stainless trigger. This old horse is not pretty nor is it a "tack driver". It does an honest 2.5 - 3" at 100 with hand loaded Sierra .311 180 grain SPTs over Varget.
It is special to me because this rifle has been on horseback hunt, dog pack hiking, small plane fly in camp, snowmobile, quad, carried it while on trail with my mountain bike, canoe, jet boat, hiking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, in the dog sled with 16 on the gang line and camping. It is my go to, my old dependable. It is not finicky, it has never had a failure to fire, it is not delicate. I have cooked smokies on the bayonet over a camp fire, it has taken a few deer in it's time and provided me with piece of mind everytime it is strapped to my back. More of a buddy than a rifle.

Remington Rolling Block in 8x58R Danish. Why because it is 140 years old. A single shot. It is very mild on the recoil. And it will hit a 5 inch circle at one hundred yards with iron sights and me at the trigger.

Just more fun than anything else I have in the inventory.

My 1947 FN Model 1930 Mauser made for the Venezuelan army. It is sometimes called a Venezuelan "Short Rifle". I bought it from Marstar for $700 almost 2 years ago and I wouldn't sell it for double that. It came unfired, unissued, non-refurbished -- in other words: "unf@@ked with". The bore is brand new condition. I fired 20 rounds through it to "shake-off the cobwebs" and to blow out some cosmoline residue. Its an extremely well made and sturdy rifle. You couldn't slide a 5 note between the action and stock. Not a single screw has seen a screwdriver since it was made at the Liege Belgium factory. The action is butter smooth, the walnut furniture is beautiful (very few handling marks), and the bluing is deep and almost perfect. It doesn't get any better than that. BTW, it shoots like a dream with the factory adjusted sights and is chambered for the uber cool 7x57.

as paris hilton would say " thats hot"
