I'm in the market for another M&P. I have one of the original 9mm's that were offered. I like the gun. Never had any issue at all.

Looking at either a .45 or the 40.
I already have a (jam o matic Armco Norinco 1911) 45 so i have lots of ammo available. I cast all my own and have tons of brass available. So that would make it easy.

Or the 40 to fill the gap? Prices are about the same. I have dies but would need to get a mold and brass. No biggy.

I have seen a few of the 45s in the original and 2.0. Price seems to be around $75 difference. Is there that much difference. I am leaning towards the 2.0 but was curious of the differences.

Tough decisions.
 
Definitely get the 2.0.
I recently bought the 9mm at Tenda and the new textured grip is by far the best striker fire polymer gun I’ve ever held.
As for caliber I could never get used to the snappiness of the .40 and always have a soft spot for the .45 which is the caliber I started with although I’ve gone completely over to the 9.
IMHO the 2.0 is the best value handgun available to us today and you’re not compromising on anything.
 
45. 40sw is well a useless calibre here in Canada. Paper target cant tell the difference in stopping power between that and 9mm or 45.
 
id go for the 45 then pick up a conversion barrel so you can shoot 40 in your 9mm.
then youd have all 3 and could shoot whatever your mood dictated.

me personally i picked up all of them.
but i had money burning a hole in my pocket.
 
Yup, 45. Probably safe to go either 2.0 or 1.0 with a bit of DIY mods.

You can always load some +P for your 9mm and have a "just-about-as-unpleasant-as-40S&W-time" shooting your regular frame M&P.
 
One thing that hasn't been mentioned about the .45 version of the M&P is that the "natural" capacity of the magazines is 10 rounds. They don't have a body that is artificially short or blocked in some way.
