Need a little help from the Mauser experts here. I recently picked this one up from a show and I wouldn't mind a little help since this is my first Mauser. From the identifiers that I've been able to sort... I believe this to be a Swedish Mauser 1894-14m. It has its issued button and also the sling attachment is much farther back vs further forward on say the k98s.

The serial numbers I can't for sure say anything about them regarding age or production number. The top of the barrel only shows a faint R and T30. The main serial number on the barrel is plenty visible. The bolt show 329 with potentially is an Iron cross?

Definitely non numbers matching and all over the place. If anyone could shed some light, that'd be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

That is a Spanish Mauser 1895 Cavalry carbine. Possibly 7x57 or a 7.62 conversion CETME or NATO, not sure.

It has been placed in a Swedish M94 stock.

From the looks of things, the barrel has a hole drilled in it. Hence unshootable.

Rooster is correct.

Though I believe the hole in the barrel is probably a shallow drilled hole where the rear sight base screw would go into? Most Mauser rear sights are soldered on and still have a retaining screw as well in the base.

As the metal would have a Spanish origin, most likely a Maltese cross? Like on the Spanish coat of arms?

The hole in the top of the barrel is to mount the front site. I just learned that the Spanish Mausers had the gas port drilled on the side of the reciever incase a case had a malfunction.

Pretty interested overall.
