Which muzzle break?

I want to put a muzzle break on my 300WM. The main issue is that I don't want it to be incredibly loud to people around me. Would putting a linear break on it accomplish this, and decrease recoil? Or am I stuck with a traditional muzzle break design?

Check out the muzzle brake that Jennings offers up.
Ports are angled forward to help control the muzzle blast.
A bit of recoil management is compromised, but shooting the 308NM is now not an issue.
Noise is reduced from the typical 90* ports.

Badger Thrusters are not too loud and good at recoil management. Gunsmith installation required though.
Linear is pretty useless for recoil management.

What ever you get you don't want a break... get a brake.

Because of the design and the way a brake functions they will always be louder for anyone off to either side... behind the brake not so much...

Linear brake is your only option given the criteria. They are less efficient, but still do something while the blast still only travels forward
