Which NEA ar15 should I buy?

If it`s someone first AR buy a norc with the money saved buy ammo and have fun. If you get the dress up bug then start saving up for parts to build your own and sell the norc. You won`t take a big loss. That way you learn more about the rifle and can build better than whats out there at same price point.

It`s the same guys defending NEA which make me feel like they have gotten handouts or discounts. Yes there will be haters as always but there was so much hype and BS defending materials used in these rifles that some on here were thinking they were gonna be the next LMT or BCM and that was before they were even released to market.:D Now people are having problems and the fanboys will post that NEA will take car of you.

If I want to buy with the risk of QC then I will buy the norc and take my chances save money. If you buy from Marstar or another rep seller and have issues they will take care of you as well. This buy because Canadian thing is old now and Canadian dealers still make money from rifles, parts and acces even if they are made in USA.

Not a NEA hater or hugger, just saying. I hope the get it together before they release the 22LR upper which I am interested in.

That's rediculous and completely false. You do understand that we sell these things, why would we give it away when people are paying us for it?

As well the people saying that they were takrn care of, is because they were.

The reason I am so happy with nea is because I was taken care of in under 24 hours, they seemed to genuinely care and made sure I understood that the problems in my gun were taken care of in on going production. For me though, the other factor is, the economy is in the tank again, and the forecast for the coming year is bleak and yet nea is exporting guns around the world. They are hiring and putting Canadians to work. For those who say buy Canadian is old, say that again at the end of the coming year, tell those guys who have jobs at Nea that it doesn't matter and be proud instead of supporting norinco whose country is trying very hard to undermine the western banking system.
If you don't like nea at least buy stag! Core or lmt and keep it in north America.

Just don't understand why they don't test fired them before they sent it out!!!. Most does!... this kind of problems will be avoided if it is tested. I hate to send it back and forth for warrenty work, I perferably not to if I don't have to....and who will pay for the shipping?

NEA has posted many times that EVERY gun gets test fired before it goes out the door. Earlier guns were test fired with suppressors, so sometimes weak cycling wasn't picked up.

As for rough chambers, I presume when this happens NEA did not inspect the fired brass, just verified proper cycling and shipped the rifle.

I'd be willing to bet that if this issue is widespread, it will get addressed quickly - NEA seems quick to learn from their mistakes and make it right for the customers as well.

I don't care if this makes me a fanboy, but NEA WILL take care of you if you have a problem. I've experienced it myself.

I can also unequivocally say Armseast will also take care of you if you were, for instance, to buy a Stag. The last Stag I bought wasn't right when it arrived, but the necessary replacement part was in the mail at no charge almost before I hung up the phone.

Any of the reputable dealers with lifetime warranties are AWESOME. Period. I've never had an issue with a CGN-sponsor who warranties north-american made ARs.

I would expect some QC issues and from the looks of it the guys at NEA seem to be taking care of it and handling issues as they should be.

Jeez alot of hate for NEA here. I've never put my hands on one but...

Seems to me that they just set up shot and are a Canadian company building AR's for Canadian shooters. I'd rather give my money to a Canadian company that buy a Norinco. It seems like the guys at NEA are about their product and input from people as well. The QC issues seem to be getting sorted out.

Agree with you completely Kingdarb. I thinks it's awesome that we have a Canadian company making ARs.

Honestly, I intend to buy a Swiss Arms rifle as my first black rifle. And will likely buy the NEA lower for it. So I won't be in a position to buy an AR for a year or so. But I will almost certiainly buy an NEA at that time. I always prefer Canadian made, and they're working hard at fixing their initial problems.

I got my NEA 15 14.5 for xmas. It doesn't have a single shot without a malfunction (look at pictures). Slide catch is a very loose fit in the receiver. The main problem is the chamber being machined wrongly
creating rings on spent brass witch creates more surface area and stops the round from ejecting (ruining the brass). While this problem would
probably be fixed with a new barrel the other problems make me worried that I will encounter more malfunctions including, but not limited to,
the slide catch to be worn down to breaking point and plain FTFs. I'm thinking I will just return the rifle and get a core 15. Do you guys test fire your
rifles before you ship them out?

As we said, ALL rifles are test fired before shipping. A few batches were test fired with suppressors, which didn't give us a representative result.

If it was test fired how come nobody noticed the rings on the casings from this gun? Are these barrels cnc machined or are they machined manually?

Not hard to imagine test firing a bunch of rifles during the day, cart. getting ejected into a catcher or a curtain and into a bin without anyone looking too closely at the brass that piles up. Remember, these initial rifles were fired with a can on them so they cycled fine, spent brass flies into the bin, and rifle gets OK'd to go. Im guessing they are taking a look at them now!

No cover-up, just an oversight that in light of being pressured to get product out the door, a greater desire for these rifles than expected, and everyone there working in overdrive to get caught up (recall the thread were their staff was in on the weekend putting new trigger springs in finished rifles?) is understandable IMO.
