Given the recent influx of Non-Restricted AR-10 Receiver sets, I am getting the itch to buy and build my first NR do it all AR-10 (ish) to keep my other 7.62mm NATO rifles company. Been out of the loop off late so have spent some time reading up on the contenders but the more I read the more unsure I get on which one to buy as besides cosmetic differences they seem pretty identical.
So, asking for opinions from the more informed: Which receiver set would you recommend that I buy and why ? Price is not an issue as I plan to keep it but quality in workmanship and fit and finish is important. Not in a rush to build so availability timeline is not a constraint as I am still looking for the jewelry to tack on to the receiver set.
If there is good feedback, I will consolidate it by manufacturer and place it in the first post as a handy summary reference.
Rules:
1. DO post your real world (both objective and subjective) experiences, observations and insights as they pertain to these 4 choices.
2. If you want to geek out your recommendation with tech specs, I would love it!
3. DO NOT flame or sling mud. I am hoping this turns into an informative discussion of pros/cons of the different choices.
4. DO post pix of your builds. If you are planning to build, I would be interested to know the what/why.
5. If the manufacturers want to chime in, feel free to - but keep it classy.
