Been trying to decide which of the following bulk packs gives the best accuracy.. Yep I know one should try and match amo to given rifle but I have a bunch of 22's so just want one brand for general shooting.

win 333 box 36 gr
win expert 36 gr
win dynapoint 40 gr

I know many of you out there have test most of this amo, did anyone find one of them better than the others?

Cheers

Pick up a box of each and test them in your gun. What may be most accurate in one gun might prove horrid for another.

I have nothing good to say about winchester bulk ammo. It is dirty, some bullets are misshapen, , lots of duds, some go pop some go bang. Get some federal bulk, it is much better IMO.

ive got some average group sizes worked out for xpert and 333 out of my gevarm.. i will go look them up. also might have an average for super x power points. I haven't seen a brick of dynapoints for a couple of years around here.

I have used Winchester exclusively for the last few years. Cannot say enough about their individual accuracy. Some other makes are "JUNK" and will not pattern from my guns. Last years varmint count was very high and not every gun shoots the same ammo accurately. I shoot all 3 types ( hollow point, dynapoint and 333s) of Winchester from different guns and each is pleasantly accurate with what they like.

x3 on the dyna points..... ver very dirty, after 150 rnds my gun wouldn't fire anymore it was so fouled!

x2 on buying the federal bulk packs

Americal eagle (not bulk) & Federal Champions (bulk) work really well in all of my .22's, semi's, bolts & pumps.

I have 2- 10/22, 1- gevarm, 1- BMR, 1- Buckmark Pistol, 1- Heritage SA revolver 1-Savage MKII & a Stevens pump gun.

Only the 10/22 guys complain about their rifles not working after X amount of rounds. ;)

In all my bolts, and now my lever I've liked Winchesters stuff. Most of it grouped well and I really liked the Xpert stuff. However I do prefer the 525 Federal bulk stuff, but if it's not available I'll shoot the Winchester stuff and not lose any sleep over it. (My rifles don't jam because of fouling :D)

Hmm I find american eagles fill my gevarm action with so much crud that there is a noticeable difference in trigger pull after only 100 rounds. And the bolt sounds like its riding on sandpaper after a hundred rounds or so.

I like winchesters, but the t22 target ammo shoots a pattern that would make the Dominion Arms outlaw look like a prescision shooter

ha ha ha :D.... It was the Buckmark pistol that jammed up, funny the only problem I have with my 10/22's is when they get real dirty.... 5krnds or so.... they start to stove pipe... and then the extractors come off, and then the barrel gets loose, or the bolt release gets sticky....... :D

Funny ya know I shoot mostly the BMR or BMP now.......

I figgure why frick around with 5 different types of ammo, when u find one that works in all your .22's you are crazy to buy anything else....

Cheers!

very interesting!!!!!! i use the wally world dynapoints
for plinking and have no trouble in ruger heavy barrel
10-22, my R55 TC and my brownning medalist pistol.
the win X-pert on the other hand fouls all my guns up
in about 20 rounds, even my wifes savage bolt action.
i use the crappy tire dynapoint GT for super accurate
shooting. not as good as real target ammo but way better
than just the wally dynas. in my sons mosberg plinkster,
the reg dynas 1.5 in groups with him shooting neeling
in our indoor range and the dyna GT .625 group at
25 meters. ive said this before, i like the copper plated
because the first shot is not a flyer after your rifle sits
a while or a week. very important when shooting
at problem varmints.

I found some of my targets ive shot since last fall.

Win 333
5 shot avg. : 2 1/8" based on 5 - 5 shot groups @ 110 yards

Win Power Point
3 shot avg.:1 1/8" based on 5 - 3 shot groups @ 50 yards
5 shot avg.:2" based on 5 - 5 shot groups @ 50 yards

xpert
3 shot avg: 1.06" based on 5 - 3 shot groups @ 50 yards
5 shot avg: 1 2/3" based on 10 - 5 shot groups @ 50 yards

I found the xperts had the least amount of flyers which really helped keep the 5 and 10 shot groups closer to the size of a 3 shot group. I wish I could get my hands on a few more bricks of the 333's but all I can find is AE or Xpert bricks.. and the American Eagle is 6-8 dollars more / brick!
All shot with gevarm a6 ,4x scope, prone with bean bag front rest .

Fed Bulk - work quite well, happen to have a box now that the 452 has extraction probs with but overall by far the happiest bulk pack ammo.

Win Dynapoints - they're like snow flakes, no two are alike. Shoot then would think by looking at them but definitely like Fed better.

---

Non-Bulk - CCI std velocity just seem to work well in everything every time (Buckmark Pistols, T/C R55, Browning SA, 452).

Pick up a box of each and test them in your gun. What may be most accurate in one gun might prove horrid for another.

(1) shoot the "whole" 50-round box, or at least an honest 25-rounds of it, to see a full "reaction" :p (2) definitely, test it in our own firearm (although certains brands of firearm do seem to trend to/agaisnt certain brands of ammo).

My first reaction at the thread's title was "bolt or semi?"....:D

Well, thank you for saying it again - I learned something new today! :)

I love factual/first-hand anecdotal answers/replies....

My personal fave bulk-pack, too. :ninja:

I shoot alot of Dynapoints and Fed Bulk packs.
The wifes BRNO#5 shoots the Dynapoints great!
My 10/22 loves the Fed 525rd packs, and they perform great on gophers.

Itching to test some Win 333 and Dynapoint GT's once the snow melts.
But the Dynapoints at $17 a brick are still a great deal.

It tends to vary by the type of rifle. However in five different .22 rifles I have found Dynapoints to be the most accurate.
i wonder if sometimes u get a bad batch of ammo. i remember useing win X-perts and they wer'nt that bad
but the last time i tried, they
would gum up a gun real
quick, even a bolt action. after a mag and half they would not extract, we switch to dyna's and no more problemes.

I've had pretty good luck with the Federal 550-round bulk packs...

With the winchester stuff some rounds sound like duds, but still go off.. it's weird. Then the next round is extra loud, and the third one is normal.

Very inconsistent. Also winchester seems to have a lot of misfires.

It happens with Federal 550-packs also, but it just seems less pronounced.
