I think the 870 synthetic is the way to go. You can do what ever you want with it and there are a ton of accessories for it.

Dave.

I own an 870, but prefer the mossy safety. all depends whatcha like. I got a good deal my 870 Super Mag first so i went with that. other wise I would have gone with a mossberg.

if you hunt geese the 3.5" is a serious bonus. if you are just into the ducks, a 3" is fine and dandy.

Suspect

I would take a trip over to Target Sports Center here in Gormley and talk to Pat or Tom about a couple of the 870 Norincos they have in stock.

They had two different styles when I was there last week. Both in Mossy Oak. One had two different barrels, for $425

I think the 870 super mag synthetic is the gun; it's an all round gun but be prepared for heavy recoil when using the 3.5 ammo, this goes for any pump gun! :D

I wonder how many folks actually shoot alot of that 3.5" after they find out how much it costs

It wastes a lot of money in 2 3/4 ammo as well, as you are trying to get rid of the flinch....

870 3" for sure!!!!!!! Many parts available which are interchangeable with the 2 3/4's, which you shouldn't need anyway. 3" is more than plenty for any game...in fact I've shot most geese with 2 3/4!!!! Contrary to popular belief the 3.5's super magnums are a sales gimmick......if you "need" a 3.5" you should probably spend more time on the skeet field!!

I would have to say my preference is an older 870 Wingmaster. Great guns, affordable and well made for the price and lots of stuff available for them. I would also say 2 3/4", never have used a 3". I do own a 3 1/2" 11-87, big shell, real big shell and big boom with lots of stuff in the air. Now if S&W still made the model 3000 I would recommend it. I've owned one since new and it's the best pump gun I've ever owned.

Over 9 million 870's ... gotta tell ya' something !

The 3" Express "Combo" is one of the best deals out there.

Norinco ... you've got to be kidding ... would you buy a Chinese car ???
