I thought I would pose a quick question for you fellas. What are you using for optics on your XCR Ms? I have a bunch of red dot optics, and low power scopes, but was thinking something with a little more magnification for this one. I was considering a Nightforce 2.5-10x32 NXS Compact in an ADM Recon mount. What have you guys put on your rifles? Should I consider more magnification? Maybe a 3.5-15? Anything else other than NF that I should consider? It will be primarily a close to mid-range general purpose use rifle. Thanks,

Interesting you bring this up.....I have the same delima. So far I'm leaning towards going with a Vortex PST 4-16X50 with a GG&G AC30 mount. Short range will be handled by a Leupold Delta Reflex Red Dot on a GG&G B.Comp Scope Tube Reflex Site mount. Interested to see what you decide. The rifle shows to have the ability to have accuracy at midrange to long distances from what I have seen posted.

If I sell my 20" barreled Rem 700 LSS in 30-06 to help pay for my -M when it shows up I am dropping a Leupold VX3 2.5-8X36mm Boone & Crockett reticle scope on it with Leupold PRW rings...

If I sell my 26" barreled Rem 700 LSS in 300RUM to help pay for my -M when it shows up I am dropping a Leupold VX3 4.5-14X40mm Boone & Crockett reticle scope on it with Leupold PRW rings...

I don't want to sell either rifle but I have to sell at least one before I buy the -M because if I don't I will not have room in my safe for the -M...

Xcr-m

I put a Leupold Mark II (older version of the Mark AR) in 3x9 on mine in an ADM mount. Like it was said in an earlier post, the XCR-M is not a CQB rifle. You should stretch her legs.

There's no excuse for this attitude. :D Buy another safe. You know this won't be your last rifle ever. You need more room, plain and simple.

I ran mine with a leupold vxiii 2-7x32 and found it was easily enough glass. It also seemed to fit/balance on the rifle quite well.

I wa running something similar on my xcr-l rifles but have since changed over to the Elcan Spectre DR (1-4 power). I had initially rejected the elcan when I had the old style stocks - the issue was proper cheek weld with the elcan sitting too high. The new FAS stock ha enough adjustability that the elcan can work really well.

Based on my new appreciation for the 1-4 elcans in the smaller xcr, I would give serious consideration to the bigger 1-6 Spectre on the larger xcr

Next time I'm at the range I'll take some pictures of the smaller guns with the elcan Spectre and post a range review.

Cheers,

Get something with target turrets. That way you can easily make adjustments to your scope as your barrel bolt backs out and the impact starts to wander all over the place. Laugh2

I have a TR24G 1-4x in a Larue SPR on my XCR L and really like it, but don't really like the 2.5-10x. I did consider the Elcan 1.5-6x, but don't care for the external adjustments or the ARMS mount. I have had ARMS mounts loosen up over time, and with no way to tighten them, I would prefer something else. I do have a Leupold 4.5-14 Mk4, but thought that it might be a bit too much low end magnification. If there was another option like the Bushnell 2.5-16 6500, that wasn't a Bushnell, I'd be all over it. I think I'll end up going with the NF, as it seems to fit my needs the best of the options I have considered.

I got that covered. I just drowned the whole rifle in Loctite, and carry around a tool kit full of allen keys
