Which P-38?

I'm thinking about adding P-38 pistol to my collection so I need an advice which
one to choose from:
-one with steel frame
-one with aluminum frame?
or P-1 with aluminum frame with reinforcing pin?
Since I want to buy shooter not a wall hanger,please consider reliability and accuracy in your opinions.

If you want a shooter p38, see if you can find a steel framed, fat slide p1.
Ww2 ones are getting expensive and should get new springs and such to shoot on a regular basis.

My opinion only of course.

P1...fat slide with the hex pin, stick to 115gr ammo, and you will have a shooter for a long time.

"cyq" WW2 examples are probably the more affordable when compared to Walther and Mauser made ones. I had one and she worked great despite what some online reviews said about the producer and their quality.

Ive got a cyq as well. Shoots great!


As far as WW2 goes they are the most affordable. Not sure why, they made less cyq then walther and mauser. Lol

You can get 2 or 3 P1's for what it will cost for a WWII P38...

I feel the fit and finish on the P1s is no where near a WW2 P38.

Tradex had the P1's for under $300...where I got mine, not sure they have anymore and the website is down.
