Which Quick Release rings for BLR lightweight?

I bought a new 308 BLR lightweight stainless with a Walnut stock and a silver Leupold VII 3x9x40 to go with it so I need silver rings which cuts down teh options.
I would like the option of being able to quickly remove the scope if Im hunting heavy bush so I can use the iron sights.
If I used the Leupold silver Quick Release rings will I still be able to use the open sights or does it obscure them.

Are there better QR rings I should consider or will my idea even work so I can use iron sights?

Has anyone else tried this on a BLR. If so, low /med or high rings?

I was told Weaver style quick release would have a lower profile when I want to use the iron sights, but when I re-attach the scope will it still be zeroed in.

I think I found the answer to my problem. I will need Weaver #54 base or #46S (in silver http://www.picnicworld.net/picnic-bags-303479.html

Here is an article I found with someone who had the same problem who wanted the option of going back to iron sights. What Im still uncertain of is when I reattach the scope how far off will it be at 100 yards.

Warnes are really low profile, but they are heavy and the silver won't match exactly. Nothing wrong with black rings on a silver scope, though, in my opinion - I wouldn't limit myself because of this.
