Hey everyone,

I am brand new to the sport, and the options fir for mounting out there are blowing my mind..

I just got a Savage 10 FCP-K .223 with a Millet rail, which rings and base would you recommend if i was going to mount a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-10x40 on it?

A bushnell, you can just duct tape it on,and you will not notice any difference.Save the money you would have spent on mounts and rings, for glasses.

Get Burris Zee Signature rings with inserts in appropriate height.

They self align and prevent scope marks.

Use whatever optics you want. Not everybody has unlimited bankroll for scopes like some of the member here think.

Typically you would have to try a set on at the store, but with your set-up I believe that a set of medium would be the ticket.

Factors are objective diameter and barrel diameter. Not all medium rings are the same as is with low/high rings, that is why there can be some test fitting.

Thanks, how do you know what the proper height would be?

so something like this?

Burris low Zees for a 1" main tube and 40mm obj.
Burris med Zees for a 30mm tube and 50 mm obj.
Make sure eye relief is good(scope is far enough back)and the front of base that protrudes forward of rifle receiver doesn't interfere with slope of obj. to main tube angle. If it does, goto next ring height and keep eye relief the same.

Bushnell makes some decent scopes. Buy what you like. A 5 MOA shooter @ 100yds "ain't" gonna be no better with a $3400 scope.:D

I believe the 3200 is Bushnells "entry" level scope.
