hey guys, im wondering which model you guys would choose the 12 vlp with the mcmillan stock or the 12 bvss with the Target style heavy prone laminated with ambidextrous Wundhammer palm swell? very similar guns just dfferent stocks, i checked around to see if i could find some to handle but couldn't find any and i've searched the internet for suggestions but theres nothing.
i think i want a savage and i narrowed it down between them two models, but i'm still kinda thinking remington , i wanted a rem. xr100 but the barrel twist is too slow and i want the rifle for competition shooting.
thank you guys for all of your time and info, Will.

I prefer the Low Profile stock on the 12vlp (laminate stock)

Isn't the McMillan rifle a 10fp

What caliber?

When it comes time to purhase rings and a base, keep TPS in mind. We have excellent stock on their product..

WillJ, you will enjoy the Savage. Choose the stock that fits your style of shooting - Bench, bipod, field position????. If you are handy with hand tools, you can modify the FV stock to make just about any shape you want and will save you quite a bit of cash.

Stockade gunstocks in the US makes a line of stocks for the Savage. Will give you an idea of the styles out there. Give Ian Robertson a shout to see what styles he has available too.

The metal parts launches the bullet. The stock lets you get it there accurately.

hey ###, it says on wholesale sports that the 12vlp has a mcmillin stock, but on savages site it doesn't say anything about a mcmillin. is this a misprint on wholesales part?
as for caliber i was thinking of going with a .223, because i would like to get into shooting varmints out here as well, thanks guys for the replies.

Misprint, look at the pic and just after it says "McMillan stock" it says "Brown laminated stock".

.243 has much better range and power over a .223, way better than a .308 as well and lower recoil
