which scope for a 22 for grouse hunting .

Get a Sightron SIH 1.75-4X32 and send it back to Sightron for them to dial down parallax. Buy it directly from Hirsch precision and ask them to take care of it. The are very good at taking care of their costumers. Done it my self.

I have a Nikon prostaff on both 22s I take bird hunting. both 4-12x40. Haven't let me down yet. The low cost was worth a try and im glad I did. I sold one scope, and bought the 2 of them for the same price. I like them on 22s.

I use a bushnell banter, i believe it is called. Around $100 and good enough for my hunting outings.

I use Leupold Rimfire 2-7X28 on 2 of my bird hunting CZs. I also have one CZ equipped with a Prostaff Rimfire 3-9x40. Can't go wrong with either of these scopes but I personally prefer the compact Leupolds.

Simmons 8 point 3-9x40, I got it on sale for $39. I just use it for target shooting but it's crystal clear and working well so far.

Just dont buy the cheap ~$60 Bushnell ones. I started with a cheap AIM 4x 40mm scope, then saw the Bushnell rimfire on sale for cheap cheap (like $37 I think I paid) and liked the idea of a variable power for the range and the 32mm objective seemed like it would be a good size for a grouse gun. I dont know what it is, but my groups were better with the 4x AIM scope than this one.

At this point, I think Im going to put the bushnell that came on my Savage Axis onto it. Its a 3-9x40, a bit bigger than I would probably like but its a step up in quality from the crappy bushnell rimfire scope.

Consider the Leupold VX-2 Ultralight 2-7x28mm. I have one on my Ruger 10/22 -

Not a real fan of leupolds but i have one on my hunting 22 a 2-7x33 shotgun version parallax is set to 70yrds i think, I would look at the leupold crossbones crossbow scope as well it has the parallax at 70 too as well as some hash marks for drop.

I was shooting targets this summer and had a nikon pro 5 4.5-18 on it and it is nice just a bit overkill so to speak.

the Simmons 22 mag 3-9 is ok for a value type brand as well.
