Which shotgun ???

Will start trap again in the spring so for now I'm searching for the right gun. I've narrowed it down to 3 28" semi autos. Browning sporting clay, Benelli M2 Synthetic and Beretta Xtreme. I'm leaning towards the Beretta as its on sale at 1100.00 and its look and feels great ( actually all three fit like a glove). I'm told though that the Benelli cycles anything and the Xtreme doesn’t really work that well with low velocity trap loads.
Any experiences or recommendations?

I don't want to burst your bubble but....if its for shooting Trap, maybe you should consider a Trap gun instead!

I would also consider the Remington Competition. A fella at my club just bought one and I might get to try it next Saturday.

Now as stated above, a nice O/U makes a better trap gun. You can get a used Browning or Beretta for in the price range that those semi's are. Look around and try as many guns as you can.

A xtreme is mostly a waterfowl gun. If you are shooting trap I would look at a 391. I got a sporting one with 30" for 875 and I love it. I shot a box of the winny featherlite trap shells and cycled them fine.

Ditto the 391 for semi autos. Some good pricing at P&D Enterprise right now...

Another vote for the 391 Urika. Don't get a specific trap model unless you intend to shoot trap and nothing else. A sporting clays configuration is better if you intend to shoot other games or use the gun to hunt.

I have the 12ga Beretta 391 Gold Sporting. I use it primarily for skeet but it works well for trap & clays, albeit with the appropriate chokes.
