Which Vortex 4-12 Adjustable Objective would suit me best!?

Help!

I've got a Tikka T3 lite in .223 that's going to shoot gophers, coyotes and targets but I'm getting overwhelmed by all the choices of scopes.

I thought I had it down to the Vortex diamondback 4-12 AO then I saw the Vortex Viper 4-12 with the side adjustable parallax. The is also the crossfire 4-12 AO which is cheaper than the other two.

I like the ability to adjustable elevation turrets on the viper and the crossfire, Plus the AO seems like it would get in the way of any flip up covers I may want to put on.

I know people say just get out and shoot.. but they also say put the best optics you can on your rifle. So I'm kinda caught in between the two right now.

So, I guess my question is: Is the Viper worth the extra $150 and waiting for another pay cheque to roll around? Or am I just looking for too many freakin features on the darn thing?


I would really appreciate some insight on the matter.

I'm buying a Crossfire for my 22LR. I like the scope and the fine wire reticle is perfect for targets and varmints.

I just bought the crossfire as well, but for a .22.

I might consider a higher end scope for something centerfire.

Vortex

Just put a diamondback on my new to me 1966 FN Browning T bolt, will try it out at the range this aftternoon. The side focus models only go down to 50 yrds, AO model goes to 10 yrds. May not be a factor on a centerfire but a short range shot is the same for both. I chose the BDC reticle for a better idea on hold-over, once you know the range distanes you're set.
