Looking for a new pump shotgun

The following are in my price range. Which one would you'd buy to be used for range, marsh, and woods?

Rem 870 super mag
Stoeger p-350
mossberg 835

870, but you're not going to shoot enough 3.5" shells to make it worth it (speaking from experience). I'd stick with the 3" version and spend the rest on ammo.

I'm gonna go against the grain here....and don't get me wrong, I love the 870 (I have 2)....but IMO the best deal going on a pump is one you don't have listed: The Mossberg 535.

The 535 has the stuff I like in the 835: 3 1/2" capability, tang safety
And none of the stuff I HATE in the 835: Ported barrel, backbored barrel (I like to carry a couple slugs....BB'd barrel + slugs is a no-no )

On top of that, they are a great bargain. A full camo model with two barrels will run 400-500 bucks brand new and cover every possible shotgunning situation from turkeys to deer to waterfowl to upland to clays. I have 3 seasons on mine...HARD seasons. Never a problem.

Something to consider.

Benneli Nova all the way -- especially if you fit the gun (it is a little large)
It aims well for a larger framed guy, for me it shoots where I point it, hundreds of rounds later it hasnt missed a beat.

My friends with their Super Express 870s (newer vintage) spend more time clearing jams with 3.5 inch rounds then shooting.

Been caked in the texas mud (like cement) -- cleaned it in a car wash - salt water hunting -- and it keeps on functioning. takes 3 1/2 inch or just use whatever size you prefer. It is tough.

now and then you see them for sale used for a very good price

870, only cause I'm buying "chola's" off of him :D:shotgun:
I've jumped off the Win. & Mossberg wagon due to the fact that the alloy recievers take a beating, That's my oppinion of course;)

The 870 super mag is a fantastic shotgun. It was my first gun and i would never sell it. It has always run flawlessly even after being dropped in mud ect....except for that one time i dropped in the river at -30 degrees...even then i got a duck down before having it jam due to a frozen chamber. (i couldn't cycle the pump)

Go for the 870 I guess... but last fall I was dead set on the 535 and I even had a 535 2 barrel combo on order, then I changed my order to the 870 after 3 months of backorder notices from SIR.

I really like my 870 and the Laminate stock looks awesome. But it took me a long time to get used to the trigger guard safety. I had carried a Mossy 500 just enough times to get used to the tang safety which I really liked.

I would buy an 870 over the mossberg, but I would also buy a Benelli Nova over either one. I had one for a while and it was awesome, I sold it because I never did get into waterfowl.

I noticed that there was no votes for the Stoeger. Is there something wrong or are they still relatively new and untreid ?
