Whitney Navy revolver worth

A friend has been offered a .36 cal cap & ball revolver for $1000.00.
Its in good condition and appears to be a 2nd model.
Mechanically it is excellent is this a fair price?

It appears clean and serviceable, in theory it will always maintain its value being an antique.

Well Yes its a great Investment.
They seem to go up abit every year some guns more than others.

I seen a few Whitneys sell for over $1000 in the USA some are way over priced at $2500 ECT but $1000 for a good one IN Canada is a very decent price.

They are very Strong Framed guns.

I have a Whitney walking beam revolver in shipping from the south. should be here in about a week. Paid about 1100. total . I think a good Navy is worth more. Sounds like a fair deal.
