Darn it all. I'm trying to rustle up some 8mm Mauser brass to make up some 9.3x57 ammo and it seems everybody is sold right out at the moment. New or once fired, makes no difference. Even a stop at the Cabela's in Portland left me empty handed. Buying loaded ammo doesn't help me as I don't have a rifle to shoot the 8x57.
Hey, did I just talk myself into getting another rifle??
Maybe I did.

Probably have to anneal the neck, then use a tapered plug to expand it.

Tried a .30-06 yet? Remove the expander stem, FL size, trim, replace the expander stem and resize.

I just ordered a bag o' brass in 8x57 from a Canadian supplier and sponsor of this site and will have something to work with to get my 90 year old M46 in 9.3x57 up and running. After cleaning off all the old dried grease and gunk and redoing the stock over the past month I'm real happy with the results.
Another great find from my new friends at Tradex.

No luck finding brass in any of the big box sporting goods stores through Oregon and Washington during my little vacation, and the prices weren't anything special either.

Now I'll have to look for a nice old 8x57 Mauser for my next project.
