who can cut and rechoke a barrel?

That is the deciding factor for sure.
In my experience with shotgun bbl's, not likely.
If you measure the wall thickness of a shotgun
with tubes, the bbl wall thickness AND the tube's
wall together will be about 1/8"ish. The bbl then reduces
substancially for the rest of the length(except for chamber)
to assist with weight and handling.
You would need 'about' this much material(1/8") in the
wall of your bbl to facilitate removing enough for
the tube and threads, and still leaving enough
behind in the bbl for adequate support.

I am sure this can be done. BUT..
I think Benelli makes 24 inch barrels? Why not get on EE and offer to trade your 28 inch tube for a shorter one? I am sure there may be some shortie owners out there who may be willing to trade for the longer tube?

I don't know if there is a considerable difference in terms of wall thickness between Benelli's semi-auto barrels and pump barrels, but I've heard of people in the UK and I think in the US cutting down their semi barrels.

I originally wanted to buy a 24" Supernova in black (not camo) but no retailer could source one for me. I didn't feel like going through the troubles of buying another gun from the US so I picked up a gun in the EE.
Originally thought it was a 24" but a lack of communication and diligence on my part resulted in a 28" shotgun ending up at my house.
The problem with wanting to swap with someone is that the barrel has noticeable scratches on it close to the muzzle. I doubt anyone would want to trade.
If anyone does, please let me know. The barrel is perfect functionally, just has this slight cosmetic defect. We can work something out.
Or, if you have a BLACK SUPERNOVA WITH 24" VENT RIB BARREL AND COMFORTECH STOCK and would like to sell it, please PM me.
Now, seeing as I am in the situation I'm in, can anyone recommend a shop to get this done?
Doesn't have to be close to me. I'm willing to ship if I'm sold on the abilities of the gunsmith.

I think that you should post your request on the EE. Doesn't cost and you may get lucky!
Choke tubes should not be installed in barrels with a wall thickness of less than .015". Provided the inside diameter of the barrel is concentric to the outside dia.
You should also not attempt to install choke tubes in barrel whose inside diameter exceeds .735". Even less for thinwall barrels. For 12 gauge that is.

I'm actually waiting to hear back from them as well as Lawry, who are listed on Briley's website as a Canadian rep for their thin wall choke systems.
I'm tempted to buy another Benelli, but at this rate I soon won't have room in my house for all the gun safes.
