Who can import AR15 parts?

I’ve been buying parts from Brownells but after getting a few items held by CBSA awaiting a Global Affairs Canada decision I’m looking for another method.

From talking to CBSA the issue is any part labeled as AR15 is being held. Parts that don’t have AR15 in the name of the product have been coming in without issue in my experience.

I’m after a few parts with AR15 in the name and I’m wondering what companies will import small quantity parts still? One is Geissele Posi-Snap Ambidextrous safety and the other is Odin XMR Extended Mag Release.

None of these are going on AR15 rifles.

Who might I contact to get these brought in for me?

Thanks

The stupidest part about this is they are just parts, and cbsa already allows for all manner of parts for prohibited firearms... look at AK's, or FAL's, etc. It's such b*******.

Yes the receivers are prohibited, no absolutely nothing else to do with them is.

I’m with you. CBSA has been good to work with. Issue is OIC states some AR15 parts but clarifies nothing. You’re right if they made them prohib in the normal manner we’d all be able to import parts as you’re allowed to keep your prohib firearms in good working condition.

Such a load of crap but as I’ve already got parts stuck in purgatory I thought I’d look into who can get me the parts I’m after. Ironically they’re not even for AR15 guns but I still cannot bring them in myself…

Really? I've never seen this! I'll have to take another look and see if I can find this wording but if you have it handy or know where to find it in the document, please screenshot and post

From CSSA

“This week we learned of an RCMP memo sent to Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The letter advised “some AR-15 parts” are now prohibited based on the OIC but the RCMP memo did not specify which ones.

The problem is the RCMP’s guidance to CBSA on AR-15 parts – it’s intentionally vague and misleading.“

I have bought ar 15 parts off the irunguns usa site. I'm pretty sure they drive across the border and do the import themselves.

I talked to 2 different gun shops and both their orders are held up at customs. So everyone is in the same boat…
