Alright I have a mismatched, previously re-finished (before I bought it), fairly pitted Inglis No.1 Mk1* and was wondering who might be able to restore it by filling in the pitting and a good, high quality park job. As well as give it a good mechanical once over. The pistol pretty much has very little collect-ability with it being mismatched and re-finished, but the park on it is already wearing thin in some places and the pits are ugly so I figure I might as well make the ol girl look like she should.

I remember a thread on someone who had some Garands redone and I was quite impressed with the results.

Thanks.

Pocketfisherman worked with Nick in the Windsor area with a business called Vulcan who redid an M1 Garand that you remember posts about. It turned out really nice.

Here is his business e-mail if you would like to ask Nick about your Inglis.

Nick at Vulcan does real nice work! I've seen several members on here get him to do restorations and they come out really nice!! He even has videos on youtube from some of the projects, it's gonna be my first call if I need something done.

I would keep it just the way it is. I love the way old guns look -especially if they show they've been through war.

The only reason I would restore it, and minimally, is if it was in danger of seriously degrading if nothing was done (ie cracked wood on rifles, etc).
