Etching/ Engraving
X2 on the electro etching. Grab a knifemaking magazine at the news rack, and look for the companies that make electro etching logos. It's possible to get really good detail levels, and pretty decent etch quality using these units. If you hunt around online, you can find plans for your own etching unit (just a adjustable voltage power supply, and a lot of info on making your own logo stuff, using computer graphics software, and photo-sensitive coated cloth, that , when properly treated, allows the current to flow only through the areas wanted. You will have to buy some chemicals, and the cloth, but you can do it yourself, if you want. At the least, you can find out what is involved, and maybe how to optimize your logo to be able to get it to print state for etching. If you are looking for scratch type engraving, talk to your local trophy shop. They may have issues doing the parts, or they may wish to do it while you are there, waiting. If you wanted hand engraving, be ready to search, and pay, when you find someone. Good engravers are getting rare, and they have always been expensive! Cheers Trev
