Thanks to all who responded. I got an 'as new" Pietta" from Lone Ranger. great guy to do business with incidentally. Gun should get here by next Friday if the BC CFO does his thing as quick as he usually does and Canada Post comes through as they can do.

Proline Shooters in Calgary is a great spot to find cowboy action and BP stuff. I've bought a bunch of stuff through them and they are great to deal with.

Thanks MikeD81 i'll no doubt be looking for a Colt design later this year. I now have two 1858's to learn some skills on before venturing or expanding the BP inventory. I have some long guns that may have to go to make room for the new kids on the block.

Thanks Bob for starting this thread, lol.

After realizing I have only 2 1858 Revolvers, 1 antique and 1 Pietta I got to looking on the EE and there was a 1858 Ruger replica posted, so now I have 3.

Bob!! Do I need to do an intervention?? I don't want to ask how you plan on slinging the third revolver :)

Glad to have you "on the dark side"

I need help. I have the bug bad. No not Covid19 you twit it, it, its like i have an urge to tasts unburned black powder running down my throat. Man I got it bad.

All kidding aside. I really have found a new outlet for shooting. The BP revolver shooting is great fun. O should have the 2nd 1858 here by Friday. With 3lbs of FFFG and the 700 percussion caps the boy will be busy. Casting tonite so we should be good to go for next Sunday.

Bush1 I saw that revolver and nearly risked the marriage. Hope you enjoy the revolver. I want a Colt 1851 before the Ruger will come this way. Not sure why but then when did why ever come in to it.

I'll bring a muzzleloading rifle along, see if you get bit by that bug - you'll be needing a coonskin cap soon enough.

Well I have a couple of cap guns I bought for my oldest when he was five. Disneyland sold them. They were made in Kentucky. I think I paid $10US for the rifle and another $10US for the handgun.

No I am not going down the rifle route, no no a chance, never....

Ha I have some of those as well from Disneyland in the '80s. A lever action, a double barreled rifle and a caplock pistol.

That sounds like a bet :)

Hey I just checked IRG and they have a Cimarron 1858, (uberti) beautiful, if I hadn't just bought the 1875 I would have ordered it. One thing, it says .45lc and .44, not sure if they have both cylinders included or not but you could ask! They are having problems like everyone else getting stock. 9 revolvers in stock now, there were 58 ish when I ordered mine! Give them a call.

That's a sweet deal! Having the option to shoot cartridges or cap and ball would be great
