I just picked up a Magpul CTR buttstock and I may need a milspec receiver extension to use it (it's going on an EBR M14 chassis, not an AR15).

It will be replacing a 4 position CAR stock that I already have.

Are the 4 position CAR stocks compatible with the Magpul milspec stock? And if not, do any supporting dealer scarry an inexpensive milspec tube?

brownells, Ive bought a few Vltors off them, they also have thier house brand as well.

We have them in stock. They are the really nice VLtor ones.

Vltor is 5 posn unless they've started making new ones and not advertising.

We have a variety of MilSpec extension tubes (LMT, CMMG and PWS).

If you really want the ultimate go with the new PWS unit which has a number of new features not found on ANY other extension tubes...

PWS - Enhanced Buffer Tube, MilSpec

The PWS Enhanced Buffer Tube is the first major upgrade and improvement to the buffer tube in years!

This one piece billet buffer tube is CNC machined out of solid 7075 aluminum in order to gain lightweight strength and reliability.

The most notable features on this buffer tube include:
  • One piece construction eliminating the castle nut and ensuring that when installed, the buffer tube cannot become loose.
  • Attachment system automatically indexes the buffer tube perfectly straight.
  • The bottom of the interior buffer tube extends a lip into the receiver, supporting the bottom rear of the bolt carrier, counteracting the carrier tilt present in some piston systems.
  • Two QD sling swivel attachments are machined into the front of the buffer tube allowing ambidextrous connection of your QD slings.
  • The buffer tube is fluted to allow debris to be pushed out of the way, and a drain hole has been placed in the bottom of the tube, allowing for draining of water when the rifle is parallel to the ground.
  • A dead blow buffer is securely installed in the rear of the buffer tube to reduce carrier speed by an average of 10%, and dramatically reduce felt recoil.
