Have a few guns I want plated, someone in AB would be much preferred. Don't want any crap about just keeping up on the cleaning, it's as much for looks as anything.:p

Nickel plating is an antique finish. Industrial hard chrome or one of the other more modern finishes would be better. In any case, you'd have to talk to a local gunshop.

I just hear chrome can be corroded by many common solvents. I like the Trinite(sp?) finish like on a Glock but again I have no idea where to have it done or if anyone in Canada even does it.

Industrial hard chrome isn't the same as bumper chrome. It's made for nasty conditions. It won't chip or peel and is very hard(65 RC. Nickel is 48 RC), but hold lubes well. Lasts in salt spray tests for over 100 hours. Polishes itself too. Sometimes you'll a pistol that has been done with what appears to be wear marks. It's not. It's the chrome being polished on itself. A flat/matte IHC finish is usually a greyish colour though.
In any case, you'd still have to send it through a smithy due to the idiotic new laws about businesses and their employees requiring a PAL to work on firearms.
No coating finish negates having to maintain the firearm.
