Who ever buy press in US?

I was just wondering if any of you got reloading press in US? I live close to New Hampshire,and was considering going to search for progressive press,is it much cheaper? Is it worth with current dollar? Thank you.
 
I bought an single stage & a progressive at two different times in the last 8 yrs & they were much better price than here, but the dollar was at par 2 yrs ago & was close the first time.
No problem at the border & reloading tools are still good to go, but these days with our dollar so low it may still be a savings or not, depending if you have to pay tax & shipping,.... or not!

The only tax I paid was the 6% Michigan tax, no shipping, so I did save because I was going anyway. Stay 48 hours at least & any goods brought back are $800. Canadian tax-free... :rockOn:

Don't forget the dutyfree on the way back, the booze & the cigars are a better price too....;)
 
I picked up a Lyman turret press a few years back and saved a fair bit. that was when the dollar was at par as well though....now i think you might be splitting hairs. place i purchased from was pistoleer.com and they had the cheapest price on what i wanted.
 
I just got my full set of 550b with extra toolgeads directly shipped to hotel from Dillon when I was on vacation in June. Also bought 6 different Lee die sets along with other accessories from amazon.com. all those were tax free, shipping Free from amazon. Then Dillon only charged us$30 for shipping.
Simply because out of state sale is no tax in US(amazon for certain states, check the web site before deciding to pickup from which state). Saved whole lot. And it's within c$850 limit for Canadian custom
The diff between US and Canadian pricing, plus all the tax saved, it's still much cheaper to buy in states even now the US dollar is 1.3.

Reloading EQUIPMENT is exportable. It is considered tools.
Do not bring back components!

Are you going to drive down, sniff around at a store or two, and hope for a deal?
Or, can you mail order online and send it to an address on the US side of the border?
In Blaine WA, there are about a dozen different places that receive mail and parcels for Canucks in greater Vancouver.
That way, we dont get sodomized by UPS border brokerage charges.
 
I bought a Forster Co-Ax from the States a few weeks ago (I don't have the receipt as I'm not at home at the moment) Dollar isn't that good so I paid about ball park what several other Canadian retailers were selling it for. However X-Reload had the cheapest Cdn pricing.
 
We can expect Canadian retail prices to jump as retailers start bringing in new product from the USA purchased in US dollars.
Buy now if you can find it at a decent price in Canada because prices are going up soon.
 
Last time I looked(last week), the RBC wanted 34% exchange. The rate may be better on the U.S. side. Our banks are allowed to do things U.S banks cannot. Most U.S. banks aren't making multi-billion dollar quarterly profits either.
A Rockchucker Supreme press runs $164.99US at Cabela's USA. $239.99Cdn at their Canadian store. $75 difference without the exchange. You'd have to pay HST and be away more than 48 hours too. Don't think you'd save any money in the long run.
 
A bought a complete Lee Loadmaster with all parts for 2 calibers and it was still way cheaper than buying in Canada, even after shipping and taxes.
For the more simple presses it was not worth the difference.
 
Bought a Co-Ax with no issues - it was shipped to me, internet sale.
All went well.
Cheaper was not an issue at that time with me- availability was as nobody had inventory in Canada at that time.
 
Soo many good advice guys!! I'm going to snoop around in new hampshire,or Vermont than I will go to the store and get it,unless I can find dill online.i have address in us I can ship my packages to,it is called kinek point,super cheap and convenient,I will let you know soon what's up.
 
if away more than 48 hours, why do you have to pay canadian tax at all?
