I have to apologize too, Mine is a '50............................had it out to the range today and somebody there asked how old it is. I had to look.

Anyway, mine's a '50 with a spring-loaded firing pin.

The return spring firing pin is in SKS rifles from 49 - early 51. Some 51 rifles will have it, most will not.

as of now, 20% of the people who have a '51, have a spring loaded fireing pin.

Rare, but not scarce.

My refurb does not have a spring loaded fireing pin. Non-chrome aswell. I am starting to like my '51 in comparison to the "light weight" versions.

anyone have a caliper to measure the thickness of the spring? Diameter in MM I gonna make a few here for some locals that want it but I don't have an SKS with a spring at hand for reference
