Anyone got one of these single shots? I know a couple of people who had them and reported trigger and extraction problems. I'm kinda tempted by a 7-08 as a budget deer rifle package. I have .243 and a .308 bolt actions so i'm not after advice on alternative rifles and calibres. I just want to know if anyone has an NEF type single shot and likes it.

I have a Buffalo Classic in 45/70 It works great. I had to change the peep sights on it to get out a little further and work on some lead loads. I'm sure the guys will help you here. There is a web site called Graybeard outdoors and these guys have a forum just on NEF H&R Fierarms. They have helped me out with some of there experience. AGE

I have the 45/70 Buffalo Classic and it been great so far. I had a H&R 410 shotgun for 20 years without a hitch. Its like any other piece of machinery you look after it and it will last forever.

I've had several, still have a couple...excellent value for the money. My Buffalo Classic is one of my favourites.

I have a 45-70 Buffalo Classic
a HB2 .204 Ruger
a SB2 .270
a Tamer .410
all three rifles are tack drivers with handloads.
The .204 puts 3 shot groups almost into 1 hole.
The .270 makes a ragged hole with 3
The 45-70 makes a BIG hole with 3 :D
I bought the Tamer for my 12yr old for grouse...it works good and is perfect size for a kid.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.Lightening the trigger isn't a big job and the stocks on the SB2's have lots of meat to remove so you can fit them to your liking.
Which is why my .204 has a fine wrist and a Schnabel fore end ;)

I'm a happy 38-55 target model and 223 varmint owner. Both great to reload for and both are perfect for what i need.
45-70 will be coming soon i hope :)

I have a .30-30 and a .45-70, both of which shoot MOA or better, I love em both. I had a stainless .223 which I sold and kick myself for doing so to this day. Keep the gun well oiled and lubed and you'll never be dissapointed!

I have a .204, and just sold a .17hmr. I don't think you can beat them for the price. The only thing I would change is trigger tune-ability. It's not that it's unmanagable, or even bad... I'd just like it @ 2.5 lbs like the rest of my rifles.

I have one in .223 that I bought used and never had a problem with. It's not as quite accurate as some of the more expensive rifles, but it shoots better than the $300 I paid for it :D.

Chris.
