I shoot well with a sig 226, but i like the smaller frame and price of the sig-pro, so i am wondering:

does the sig pro shoot as well as the 226?
does the polymer frame make it feel like a totally different pistol?
who has the best price on them?

Thanks in advance :)

I'll let you know if you can wait two weeks, as I intend on buying one next week and making a huge review thread for it.

I sold mine before moving to Canada (5 months ago). Before I bought a P226, the SigPro was my favorite gun. I put approx. 5,000 trouble free rounds through my SigPro over the course of 4 months. Here is my take on your questions...

1) The SigPro has an amazing trigger and fit my hand well using the larger rubberized grip. I don't know what you mean by "shoot as well as the 226". If you are asking about reliability, the answer is "yes". Both guns go bang when you pull the trigger. With that said, I think the P226 is the gun to have if you need to pick one over the other.

2) The SigPro feels like a very different pistol than the 226. Not because it is plastic....because it is a totally different gun. Frame material aside, the SigPro is the size of a P229 but has a completely different design. You won't mistake one for the other.

3) No idea on price.

Thanks for the input Travis. What I meant by the 226 question was, since the 226 is a praised and admired pistol, does the sig pro have the same type of quality feel when shooting? I know that some polymer guns feel pretty crappy.

This SigPro is as solid as a plastic gun will get get. However, don't think for a second you are just buying a plastic and less expensive version of the 229.

They are amazingly underrated guns. Sweet shooters and as far as plastic guns go, I liked the SigPro more than my USP or XD. I think the SigPro has a slightly smoother trigger than the P229 out of the box. With that said, I still consider the 229 a superior gun. The value on SigPros should go down quite a bit once the P250 hits the market.

Pros
Smooth trigger
Soft shooting
Lightweight
Mags are cheap
Exchangable backstraps are nice
Almost as nice as a P229

Cons
Few accessories on the market (holsters, sight pushers, et al.)
Big for a compact gun
You won't like your other plastic guns anymore
Almost as nice as a P229

mine will be here on tuesday, first pistol. ohh did i mention he is coming with his brother the 229r. thanks TSE for a great deal.

what is with the p250 mentioned above? poly? maybe .50 that would be funny

Got my SP2022 yesterday. Really really nice gun. Not as ergonomic as the 226, put points better for me anyways. Mags are MecGar. Take down is really different from everything else I have, but once you get used to it its cake. Its solid, compact, and throws a big round. A Sig for 847$? Can't go wrong there.
