Who has put optics on a FAMAE?

I removed the rear diopter sight so I could get the scope mounted low enough to suit me then just used regular rings. By doing that I was at least able to get a cheek weld instead of a chin weld. Worked great.

I am a huge believer in the ACR retractable/folding stock and GS Designs FAMAE adapter. Granted it works best on the .308 SG 542 with its slightly longer receiver, but so long as you don't ride your hand too high on the Pistol Grip it works fine on the shorter 540 and 543 Receivers. The higher line of the Cheek-Rest with the ACR stock brings the line of sight up perfect for an optic such as the Spectre DR (perfect on a 543) or for an LPVO in a cantilever mount such as the American Defence mounts. Here's my 543 with the ACR Buttstock:

I agree with Bartok5 - the ACR stock is awesome for the 542 and opens up optic options. I wanted to set my 540 up the same way he did his 543, but I found the adapter dug into my hand. I used Elcans on both of mine, so no rings. I did put a riser on the factory stock on my 540 though, as the chin weld was terrible.

I highly recommend a RM09 (the 1MOA dot version) Trijicon RMR on the low factory Trijicon mount. It cowitnesses similar to lower 1/3 with the iron sights, and is a good match to the rifle, which is honestly 2-3 MOA on a good day.

Most other mounts/optics I messed around with were too high for a natural cheek weld.

That looks incredible...

I've used low mount red dots, PK series from BeLMO and they worked well, but I don't like how with the optics mount you can't remove the handguards. I don't mind the irons at all so whatever.

If the right prism optic would come into my life I'd give it a crack again.
