Who has the best price for non corrosive in the lower mainland?

You looking to reload brass? Canada ammo has some great LCW that measures at .311, consisted powder loads, flat bottoms and shoot beautiful at .28 cents a pop taxes in.

If only "Made in the USA" still implied high quality.

This. I don't see a whole heckuva lot of American 7.62x39 on the shelves. Some Hornady hunting and 'Zombie' ammunition, American Eagle FMJ and not much else. I always keep a few boxes of Barnaul kicking around for times I want to shoot and might not be able to do a cleaning right after. It's good enough to ring a 200 yard gong pretty consistently, usually $7.99 or so a box. I'm sure you'd knock a little off that if you bought 500 rounds or more...

You're going to pay close to a buck a round if you want to shoot brass hunting ammo. If you want to simulate this, just get a pocket full of loonies, shoulder up your gun, and start tossing them down the length of the barrel and try it on for size. The norinco non-corrosive 4 for 3 deals from canada ammo are the way to go. Put yourself on their mailing list and you'll know when they come up. 22 cents a round feels good enough to compensate for any small accuracy penalty.

The stuff is great. I've gone through about 1200 rounds of it so far and no problems, 100% non corrosive. Cheap. Not known for the best accuracy but it's good enough. What more could you ask for?

Does it shoot minute of Coyote?

thanks - local in the lower mainland - not mail order.

Hey, I am going to piggy back on this thread as I have just bought my first SKS from Corwin Arms. I cant say enough good things about Martin at Corwin Arms but that's for another thread. I am now interested in researching ammo for the SKS and what is currently available in Canada. I know the difference between corrosive and non-corrosive ammo and the gun I am getting will have a chrome lined bore. I don't think I want go crazy with cleaning every time I shoot corrosive ammo. What is the price difference between a case of corrosive vs non corrosive these days? Is non corrosive ammo usually less accurate than corrosive? The non-corrosive Norinco stuff out there now in made in China, is there any options for quality stuf made in Europe or Russia, is it all 50 Years old? Is the best deal on non-corrosive the CanadaAmmo stuff, are there any other options at the moment?

Canada ammo Norinco stuff is new production 2014.
When they have buy 3 and get one free deal it's as cheap as the corrosive stuff.

Buy 3 crates, so like $900?

How about their LCW stuff from Dominion? I see you can choose 123g FMJ or HP. This stuff is from the Ukraine, Any word on it compared to Norinco?

The sks is one of the easiest guns ever to clean at least, if you're going to shoot corrosive.

LCW / dominion arms which I mentioned above is Ukranian new production to the best of my knowledge. But It never has 4 for 3 deals that I've seen. The norinco is just fine though, don't be put off by the made in china thing.

I haven't personally seen anything else from the East that wasn't surplus from the 60s or 70s. If I was going to buy surplus I would buy the Czech surplus that comes in the waxy blue boxes on stripper clips. It's cheap, accurate, and comes with free stripper clips, and the box even unfolds into a nice square that's the perfect size to use as a target. It is corrosive though, and has a distinctive disgusting smell when you fire it. Some people say corrosive smells like cat piss.

Where is this Czech surplus stuff???
