An unhelpful reply.

I have never needed service on a scope and over 40 years have used many many.

But then I only use
Leuopold
Nightforce
Sightron
Schmidt & Bender

I have heard anecdotally that Vortex has good service, but that it is needed a lot on their less than top scopes.

And though I have never needed them Korth Group for Leopold are often talked about on CGN as being top notch.

We also deal with USO and Minox.

USO
1) Best/longest coverage - Lifetime
2) Canadian location for shipping - We deal with this back to USO
3) Quick turn around - No experience so far but they are great to deal with
4) least hassle - Any customer services issues are hassle free

Minox
1) Best/longest coverage - Most products 30 years
2) Canadian location for shipping - Direct from GBT
3) Quick turn around - New products are dealt with right away, some older products we have to get from Germany. We have established a warranty replacement program with them to expedite services where required
4) least hassle - This is a goal to keep customer service high

We have had to use the Athlon warranty through Red Star Target several times and they have a Canadian Shipping location and quick turn around

A few years back I was the Canadian representative on the Leupold Dealer Council to essentially give real feedback to the manufacturer about their products. At that time Vortex was making big inroads to the sport optics industry by promoting their great warranty coverage. I suggested to their head of marketing that "the best warranty is the one you never or seldom use". He really liked that and the next year a version of that statement became one of their main advertising features. I still believe a few companies like Vortex and Bushnell have great warranties but clearly you should seldom have to find out in most circumstances. Phil

I use almost exclusively bushnell, mid to higher end lines.

I can walk into the warranty center and walk out 10 minutes later with a new scope, otherwise at most a few weeks free of charge to my door if they don't have it in the warehouse. I've heard shipping adds a noticeable amount of time into the process.

It's been argued that a better made product would not require the warranty in the first place.
Sure...maybe. I'm under no illusions as to the quality difference between a Bushnell DMR2 and a S&B PM2

But having a product that is lifetime warrantied no matter what, definitely reduces the risk when buying used scopes. One can buy a bushnell or vortex, sight unseen, and not have to worry about if anything's wrong with it short of it being bent in half lol; they're going to replace it.

Bushnell wouldn't even replace an elcheapo $100 scope for me. I sent it in and with return postage cost me approx $35. They didn't even fix it right( it still had the same problems) and they refused to replace it. To be honest I don't even think they touched it. I am done with Bushnell, never again. I usually buy good optics( meaning $1000 and up with most over $3000)..You really do get what you pay for...

Like Looky says: Leupold by a long shot.
Seldom needed, but when it is, their Canadian rep is prompt and does
excellent work.
Bushnell: gahhh! I once waited almost 4 months for my scope to find
it's way back to me. I do not own a single Bushnell any more.
Vortex....good warranty system, but has to be used too often.
Almost every centerfire I own is now topped with a Leupold of one flavor
or other. Dave.

I returned a higher end (at that time scope chiefs were their higher end)Bushnell scope under their lifetime warranty- it lasted 20 years before it gave up the ghost- they sent a note back saying that while I had BOUGHT the scope when they were giving lifetime warrenties the scope had actually been MADE two years prior when they were only giving 15 year warrenties (of course no way for me know as I bought it from a dealer) therefore they would not fix or replace the scope but they were willing to sell me a comparable 3500 at a special price and sent me a coupon- turns out I could buy it from whole sale sports for $20 LESS than their great special deal just for me
I now buy Leupold vortex sightron and burris

Leupold Golden Ring all the way. Excellent quality optics that rarely need a repair or replacement but easily accomplished through Korth if required. Bushnell and Vortex may have good warranty service but they are inferior to the Leupold products.
