Hello All,

Who here has the new Vortex Razor HD Gen III 6-36 x 56?

I have a question I hope those that have one can answer. Does your scope have reticle illumination on setting 1 and 2?

Thanks

I have a Gen III. I just checked to see and I can only see the illum at setting 1 and 2 if I'm in a somewhat dark room. My assumption is those would be the setting to use when using this scope at night/in the dark with clip-on NV in front.

Thank you for responding.

With my scope and in a completely dark room I can not see any reticle illumination on setting #1 and #2. However there is illumination from #3 to #10. My PST Gen II, Strike Eagle and Razor LHT have illumination on all settings.

I have sent an email to Vortex regarding my question and will wait for their response. I'll post what they have to say.

In the meantime any other owners with the same experience with this scope?

Thanks.

I have a Gen 2 as well as the Gen 3. Haven't really compared to my XRS 2 yet but will be lining a few more optics up.

Compared to the Gen 2 the main differences are better glass, simpler process to zero turrets, improved (0.2 mil subtensions on the vertical axis) but thinner reticle and a slightly lower weight (3oz)

Ya simpler zero is nice,I don't like the process on the gen 2.what I really appreciate about the gen2 is the ability to feel comfortable at all levels of magnification, I don't struggle with the eye box at all.and the glass is as good I'm ever going to want. I prefer the bushnell reticle in the dmr 3 pro a touch more.also the paralax on the razor is bang on,when compared to the cronus the razor shines.so I could see the gen 3 razor being something I want but can't have right now.the prices on gen 2 razors are really good right now on the ee.but I don't need a scope right now.

Update... Will wait for a response from Vortex but with some internet research and PM's here and there setting #1 and #2 is for NV add-on's.

It would've been nice if Vortex had added this info on their website's product specification and user's manual.

At least I can now rest easy that this expensive piece of equipment is working as it should.

Hope this helps others when they get there's.

Cheers and thanks to all for your help and guidance.
