Who here is into Waterfowl Hunting?

There is bound to be a few of you on here that have a fancy for some waterfowling... Myself I only manage to get out a few times a year at best. It has always been an enjoyable experience for me and have only been skunked a few times which gets a little aggravating considering I only go out once or twice a year but it never stops me. Who else is a hunter? We do so much in sport or competitive shooting that my camo gear gets a tad dusty!

Firearms wise I stick to an 870 pump, cheap, simple, just have to keep her oiled ;) Once in a while I may get away with borrowing a cousins shotgun and rock a Beretta A400.. then I am truly spoiled as they are the right shotgun for the job lemma tell ya! But there is a tonne of different choices to select from, money is my restraint. What do you use for a shotgun of choice when it comes to hunting?

And if ya don't have one, well......As always:

I use an SX3 - came from an 870 I used for years and although I loved that shotgun I cannot go back.

Mossberg 535 with Carlson extended stainless choke tube. With a stock drop spacer it just shoulders perfectly for me, hits exactly where I aim, and didn’t break the bank. Not the prettiest girl in the class, but does hits 10/10 where I point it out to 50 yards.

Incidentally, it hits just as well with slugs, even though thats a totally different game.

Now you got me excited and I have to go check out your site...

My wife would call me a waterfowl addict.... lol, I use a 60's 870 wingmaster 12ga 2 3/4 and a newer 870 Express in 20 gauge, federal blackclouds, and Carlson choke tubes

Nice thing about the 870's that keeps me from spending more money on shotty's, is for sure the simplicity, just last Sunday for example, walking across the edge of a bog, there happened to be a well hidden bottomless pit of death under the labrador tea and grasses, well I took the plunge, filled my waders and of course you guessed it, the 870 took the load of the fall, in no time at all the barrel was off and with a few hard come back mallard call blows the actions cleaned and the barrel clear of that ripe bog mud, (end of my duck call funnels air really good into parts to be cleaned) just like that back in ready mode,

A400 and SX4 backup

Always wanted to get into waterfowl hunting, but haven't had the opportunity. As for gun, I've got an Asena zr7. (pic stolen from the web)

My work horse shotty is my only shotty. A stock maverick 88 that has it where it counts and has never failed me. I fail all the time, but that’s different.
