Who here ranges with MRAD or MOA reticles?

So recently i started using my reticle and a calculator to range my steel targets while out shooting and i gotta say its pretty darn satisfying. I have a plate set up at one end of a 800 meter field and what ill do is drive to a random spot in the field, measure the size of my target with my reticle, make the calculation on my calculator, adjust my optic using my dope chart, and fire. Its been a blast(pun intended). Anyone else do this? I find it pretty satisfying.

I think this takes shooting up a knotch . Way more challenging and usefull in the real world . I guess first and see how close I am "training the mind " works . Guys that golf aquire an ability to judge of distance , muscle memory for the mind .

I have a 6-24 ZD meopta on my rig that has a rangeing scale along the bottom - meant for 6' object at 12 power . What I'm trying for a quick range is find what power scales to a deer/ moose/coyote then whatever pops out I can turn to "moose" power and range really quick . Then if a coyote pops out I change to "coyote" power . Works pretty good but more error margin the longer you go
