who holds more uummph?

simple question who has more umph and why a 300wsm or a 300 win mag and how dose it apply to accuracy

The performance is about the same for each when using bullets in the 150-180gr range.

The 300WinMag has slightly more powder capacity so it can launch bullets in the 200gr+ range pretty efficiently so I would say that 300WinMag potentially has more "umph".

in factory ammo the performance is very close. handloading the 300 wm can exceede the short by quite a bit. case capacity rules. i find it difficult to hit 3000fps in the short but the wm could get over 3100fps . my experiance the short is more acurate but both are so close i don't think it makes any difference speed or accuracy wise. both are equally good.

I have the 300 win mag and my buddy has the 300 wsm.Accuracy was about the same in hunting rifles(savage)Not enuff differance in factory ammo velocity to matter but his rifle had less felt recoil than mine with 180 gr bullets.
