Who hunts with a Mohawk?

Rem 600 mohawk

You have found a jewell of a gun, these guns where some what underestimated on there accuracy. I shot the same gun as yours last Sat at a EOHC shoot at 100 & 200 y the 200yard group was less than 3/4" larger than this group at 100 10 shots with front rest only, I am not really great shooting without rear bag. I have shot sub 1/2" group often with a 24x scope for my old eyes. Win 748 and 53gr Sierra,s 4198 is another good powder, will be your friend for targets, and Varget max load with 55gr Nosler ballistic tips are thunder on coyotes. & hogs. 2980fps out of 18" barrel
good luck with your 600 you will get to love it.

The upper gun is 788 rem lower looks like a twin to yours, I changed the bottom plastic to a metal floor plate makes a nice improvement to the 600

I had an almost MINT, Rem M600 in .350 Rem Mag( one of around 13,000 built) with a laminated stock.

The rifle was as ugly as sin....but unique looking. Had black plastic ventilated rib.

It would easily shoot sub MOA with full power handloads....

Too bad I sold it...to a member on this board it was one sweet handling rig.:(

I have one in 308 Win. It shoots 1/2" three shot groups @100 yds with 150 gr blue box Federals. I am just going to start finding a handload for it. I don't think I will have a problem :D
I am ordering a HS Precision stock for it, comes with a steel trigger guard. I have a Leupold 2.5-8x36 on it.
My friend has one in 222 Rem, shoots 1/2" all day too.

The answer - deaf people!

Last time at the range, a friend had a newly acquired Mohawk in .243. It was LOUD !!! The muzzle blast was horrendous.

My wife's R700 .243 with 24" barrel and her R700 in 6mm are much easier on the ear bones.

I can only imagine what one in .350 Rem mag would sound like .....

Yes very loud! I use a friends .222 on occasion, very accurate but loud.

Thanks for the responses guys. I had to clean/fix it up a little and re-did the stock with Trueoil. All in all its a nice little rifle & I still haven't shot it :(. I'm sure it'll shoot good though.
I'm not worried about muzzle blast.....I own several short barrel rifles mohawk, trapper, 7615 in fact I like short barrels better call me crazy.
Cheers
