Who is actively importing Colts?

Hi all,

I am interested in purchasing a 1911A1. I recognize that there are many fine companies making 1911A1s these days, but to be honest, I have always really wanted a genuine Colt. I am leaning towards a blued Series 70. I am a back to basics kind of guy and prefer a pistol without a lot of bells and whistles.

I have been looking at the websites of the CGN sponsors and I haven't (yet) found anyone who is bring in NEW Colt pistols. Have I missed a company?

I would prefer to direct my business to a company that sponsors and supports CGN, where possible, practical and within my budget.

I would appreciate any recommendations.

Proline shooters in Calgary pretty much always have a few Colts.

If none of those work, you could always import the exact one you want thru Melissa at Prophet River
 
Arms East is THE source for Colt in Canada, as far as I can see- best prices, knowledgeable staff.... but they seem to be sold out right now.

another place is shooterschoice.ca- also a sponsor. think they only have a stainless at the moment. also good to talk to.

finally, sporteque in quebec frequently has colts.

buffalo gun will also sell to Canadians.

they'll meet you at the border, hand it over to you, and you take it home.

of course in the meantime you've provided rcmp with the s/n and details of your nrw friend, and have arranged for an ATT to transport it....

but it can be cost effective, not to mention a time saver if you're waiting for a specific model. and ottawa's not THAT far from the border.

That explains a lot. I believe ArmsEast does their own importing, can't see them dealing with RNicholls if they're already in the business of importing firearms, they bring in their own Dan Wessons.
