I need one, well want one bad.

I'm trying to get my VZ.58s up and running here and this is one of the main components that I want installed.

I need the sight AND the iron shield/guard that is a part of the handguard. I've emailed OKO and after two weeks they got back to me confirming that the upper handguard and shield is a one piece unit.

If someone can give a phone number to a dealer and/or web address, I would appreciate it along with anyone else in search of the sight.

Freedom ventures no longer carries OKO as I called them yesterday about it.

Thanks!

Freedom Venture... look at the banner. I bought 2 from them and they are great dealer

sigh... oh well, sometimes I don't read too :D

Steve, I'm going to call them tomorrow long distance and find out, it takes them way to long to respond via email.

The guy speaks english, and he left me his number. I'll update this thread when I know

Why mess with the import when people split there a** to do it for you with a decent price and the warranty.

By the way, you may want to consider the protective shield/cover. I believe it is a 70$ extra but it worth the price IMHO.

Well, do you know of an importer as thats what this thread is basically asking for here. Me and stevo want one bad.

Sorry, did not read your post and the part that Freedom doesn't have them anymore.
They might consider updating there web site then cause it's still there...

Well the only option I see is to call STI International in Texas (the US importer) and have it ship here IF they still carries them.

What about Ebay? might be an option to...
Cheers

checked ebay, nothing.
brownells carrys the sight, but nothing else, I just emailed them asking if there will be any trouble sending this to canada and I have yet to recieve an answer.

STI has dropped OKO, and uses C-more now; they don't have any either. In fact, when I asked the guy about them, he seemed almost ticked off that I asked. I inquired as to if there was "any way" to get ahold of one (I.e. hint! hint! I'll pay you a little extra for a set if you can accommodate me, and place a special order) and he just told me that he had no idea, and that was that.

I tried contacting OKO directly, and while they sent me a reply with prices in US Dollars, the way that they asked for payment was with a bunch of European Banking Numbers that were Greek to me. I sent them another e-mail asking if they accept Mastercard, and haven't heard anything back from them. That was a month ago. I think there was a language barrier at work personally, but unless they reply to me; I can't give them any money.

In my searches, I've found all the manufacturers for the accouterments for the VZ.58, and verified their availability, but I can't seem to find one place that not only has everything, but has it in stock, and ready to go, and accepts a credit card.

I'll tell ya fella's; never in my life have I gone through such a hard time to try and buy something for a firearm as I have with this VZ. It's like people don't want to make money or something. It baffles the heck out of me. I'm close to giving up myself. If any of you cats have a line, please let me know. I'm willing to pay a small premium for what I want, but by that same token, I want exactly what I want, and I want it sooner rather than later. I don't think that's too much to ask, but I am finding out otherwise.

Anyone else frustrated too? He-he.

Yes, here's the info from brownells
Currently we are holding your order. The order contains items the US Commerce Depart-ment regulates under the Export Administration Regulations. Brownells will need to ap-ply to the Commerce Department for a license in order to ship this order to you.

We will need an import permit from your country and a written order from you before we can make this application. You will need to mail these documents to us; our Commerce Department will not accept fax copies.

The combination of your country of residence or delivery and Shotgun parts (ECCN: 0A984), Sighting device (ECCN: 0A987) and/or other Non-specific gun parts (ECCN: 0A018) is the reason for this Commerce Department license requirement. The attached order marks the products in question.

Code references on the Web:

Commerce Department ECCN listings.

Shotgun parts 0A984

Sighting Devices and parts¹ 0A987

Non-specific gun parts² 0A018

¹ These are scopes, rings and bases

² These are “items on the Wassaanar List”

I havent tried phoning oko yet, but emailing them is pretty useless as its been a week and a half since I've heard from them.

Anyone know how to call them from canada? I have their number but I got no idea how to dial an international number

I don't care for a side mount. The OKO handguard mount is the piece I really want.

The mount can be made, its in the faq, and I'm planning on making a post about how the hell to exactly do it when I get that far. I want the shield, its one of a kind and looks like the perfect protection for a reflex sight... Jesus, might just have to make everything here.. lol.

Going to try double tap tomorrow when they are open.
