who is colts distrubitor?

Funny you mention Colt parts I had a discussion with Bob Nicholls the owner of FN Sporting/RNicholls, and they are not issuing any permits for commercial sales and even LE/MIL sales have been held up, so the bad news is that the parts are going to be scarce for now.

The people who used to service the Colt account in Canada are now servicing another brand.

Hoping if the requisite parts can be found stateside.

Hey, next time you talk to him, can you give him a message for me?

"Die in a Fire."

Then maybe a company deserving of any kind of financial success can represent the various gun manufacturers he's ruining in this country. Worst company ever. More than 50% of the reason I shoot a Glock.

What part are you looking for?

I am in need of the bolt stop 9mm with the LONG tail so the bolt locks open when the mag is empty ive tried every dealer in canada easy to get in the U.S but noone is willing to do the permits for a 12.00 part (i want 2 or 3) but still not worth thier time brownells only has the newer ones (.223 style)

Are you sure you need it? I've had a few of the 634/635 series guns, and presently I'm just using a 556 lower with a one piece mag block. My mag block has the bolt hold open "lift" thing. I left in the 556 bolt stop and use that lower for both 556 and 9mm. Mostly I just leave it for 9mm, but I throw on the 556 NV upper on it for night shoots. It's all Colt.

I know what you are talking about with the longer "tail", but with my 556 one, and Colt 9mm mags, they work flawlessly, ie. last shot hold open, etc. I've used a 556 bolt stop on 3 Colt 9mm guns and they all worked.

Just doesn't hold open with the Beta mag, but they aren't designed with that anyway.

I can show a pic if it helps. Just might not be able to get it on for a day or so.. I'm "parenting" my 1 yr old. (Can't call it babysitting anymore:redface: )

ya i need it as i have the 2 piece early block with no lifter

without the long tail the bolt catch is nowhere near the magazine and even if i use the bolt catch manually it just barely holds the bolt the long tail one is a wee bit taller

I am not goimg to change blocks as they are too much $

I will just keep looking

oh the bolt catch I need is this one

Here's a pic of the mag block that I use. I picked it up at the SHOT show about 8 years ago for around $100. It is a very good piece of kit, and has functioned flawlessly. It's with this mag block that I am able to use the normal bolt stop. Not my pictures. I think these were made by JRW:confused: and you can use factory Colt, or modified Uzi mags. Both work well.
As you can see the bolt stop is extended to catch both the mag follower 'piece' and the actual bolt stop. So yup, unfortunately if you are using the older 2 piece mag blocks that are roll pinned, you end up kinda out of luck.
