Who Is Running Leica Geovids and Are they Good

I have 10X42s. Love 'em, although they are a tad heavy. I was handed a set of Swaro SLCs at the range the other day, and they felt absolutely tiny by comparison. The price you pay for the range finder I guess.

When paying that much for binos, really take your time and compare the glass side by side, i wanted the geovids for the range finder but bought the Swaro EL's because, for MY eyes the glass was so much clearer, I was not able to immediately focus with the Leica's. Great great bino's just not for my eyes. What works well for one does not always work well for the next.

I've got the 10x42's and quite like them.
I have had mine for 4 years and have had no issues whatsoever with them. To my eyes the swarovski EL's are a little bit clearer, but the handiness of the built in rangefinder makes up for it.

Mine have been on 3 trips to africa, one to BC. and countless coyote/deer/moose hunts here in ontario and have held up with out a hiccup.

I would recommend them with no hesitation.

Good Luck

I´m typing this from La Pampa, Argentina. So far my guide has tried to swap another buffalo and the province of La Pampa for my 8 X 42 Geovids. Might have something to do with a certain 657 yard descarte stag.................;)

Argentina? Damn Dogleg, you do get around don'tcha. Back on topic, I tried the Geovid's in the mountans and was impressed. If we ever sell the farm...

I have a set - they are AWESOME!!!! Nicest glass I've ever used. The integrated LRF is the best part. I have a LRF1200 too, but the FOV is obviously MUCH better in the Geovids.

I bought them during the whole $350 rebate promotion, and total cost to my door was less than $1450 CDN.

Nearly bought a pair, but decided on Ultravids and a CRF1200. This way if something should ever go wrong (broken) I would only have one piece of equipment out of commission, not both. Furthermore, it would be cumbersome carrying Geovids while golfing. The CRF1200 is so light and compact, hardly notice it on my belt. 8X42 Ultravids are all the weight I'd ever want to carry, even with a bino harness.
