I had the pleasure of holding a Sig X5 a few days ago. Perhaps one of the best feeling handguns I have ever had in my hand. I currently shoot a CZ Sp-01 Canadian Shadow and it feels and shoots great but there was something about that X5 that left me wanting more. Who has one of them and what do you love or hate about it??? Thanks

i have the basic x5 all-round which is probably most comparable to the CZ you have. generally i really like it (accurate -can hit ok out to 50m, soft shooter, very comfortable) but don't have a lot to compare to (only hi power, p99, g17), i don't have any experience (yet) with the CZ, and i am not a competitive shooter. i changed the grip to the E2 and it fits my hands very well. fwiw, everyone that has shot it, loved it. the only thing that could be a little better about the x5ar is the double action trigger which is generally na in my case. sometimes i wish i sprang for the L1 version, but i like having the double action with the decocker and have a hard time imagining that i would like something else a lot more.

Sig X5 is on my short list...

I have a P220 X6, if the X5 is built to the same exacting standards, you won't be disappointed.

If you have the chance to buy one, do it....or maybe I'll beat you to it!

built like a tank, locks up like a vault, more accurate than most who will touch it.

Which X-Five? If it was the L1 with SAO adjustable trigger, it will likely ruin you for all other handguns.

Go for the L1! I really like the Competition, and would love to have an Allround as well, but the trigger on the L1 is sublime!

No downside other than price, but I think they are worth it. Don't blame me if you want to collect them all!

I have a Sig X5 Level 1 and it is almost the perfect handgun for the range. Trigger is incredible and it is super accurate. The only two guns I have that are slightly more accurate are my Sig X6 and my STI Targetmaster, both of those are 6" barrels. Had the STI trigger worked by my gunsmith and it is as nice as the Sigs, but not stock. Had a Canadain Edition CZ and it was nice and ok trigger but not a single action and not as accurate. I also have a CZ Tac Sport which I like much more then the the Shadow. If budget is an issue, buy a Tac Sport and don't look back. Mine Tac Sport has a 2 lb trigger right out of the box. Both my Sigs have a much nicer feel in the hand though and feel like Swiss watches, then the CZs, but are only a hair more accurate.

interesting. the cz tac sport is one that has intrigued me. do you have the 9 or the 40?

I have a few including the L1 and all can use the 226 mags. The SA/DA is nice, Comp up one notch and the L1 trigger will put lots of guns to the shame. Price is not bad for what you get and once again if you want one hurry up before our dollar ends up par with the Mexican Peso or SIG as SAN already announced will cut down the European factory including the X line ......

Still trying to find recoil springs, extractors etc. PITA to find parts for. I still haven't found any in Canada.

At least with a shadow or 1911 you can get parts.

Prefers full power ammo due to the heavy slide, but definitely a nice shooter.

The all round needs an SRT trigger right away too.
