I am far too lazy to do the work myself. Looking for someone reputable to work on my M305. I understand some of the guys who normally do that sort of thing are no longer doing it or are on hiatus. So who is out there..?

I've just confirmed an M14 clinic at TSE on Thursday 11 July for the coming summer. Does that help? Lots cheaper than a gunsmith, when you do the work yerself AND you have me, "the finger of authority" pointing you in the right direction.

There ya AB M14 lovers go! I'll be finishing up my 4 days in Longview, AB shooting camp!

There, does that help ya out? I'm trying to save y'all money! :D

Cheers,
barney

Hungry, please forgive my ignorance or if I am missing the obvious but where is "TSE"?

Hungry, will there be a barrel vise in attendance at this clinic, for those of us wishing to remove our FH under experienced supervision?

At the TSE location we use the improvised method; a piece of Alberta birch firewood. No kidding. Ask the Oshawa clinic guys how this works. And it works really well! Sure beats carrying around a 6" vise ACROSS the country! Remember, I'm on the road and ain't got a workshop, you know, the OILPATCH kind of Service Trucks with a 6" or 8" vise on the back bumper!

Cheers,
Barney

Hey barney, you ever up in the peace region ie. grande prairie?

i would be interested in getting to one of your clinics to get educated and understand the modifications we can do to enhance the accuracy of the platform

Now I know why the " PING" still eludes me after several rebuilds. I used New Brunswick Maple to get the FH off..............Bugger !

I can confirm that no vice is required to remove the flash suppressor all that is required is the chunk of hardwood, a friend to hold it, a BFH, and a cold chisel. I also can confirm that no flash suppressors were harmed at the Oshawa Clinic. If you can make it to the clinic its well worth it.

Hey HUngry,
I wish I had the opportunity to attend that Oshawa clinic, just could not break free from the clutches of work, can you recommend any good gun smiths in the oshawa area that are good with M14's I may have an over indexed barrel and I dont have the equipment to fix it myself.
