Who is THE rebluing ninja?

By reblueing, you will take away the collector value.

The best blueing I have seen was by Steve Chaume - no longer gunsmithing and the next best is Jason at Gunco in Ottawa,

If you have a "collector quality" '94 then you should be aware that any refinishing may reduce the value. If you do go ahead with your project then be very careful that the re-bluing matches/restores the original Winchester color - few do. Many are too black - like the previous owner did to my Win. Model 21 SxS. Simmons Guns in Olath Kansas is probably your safest bet and most cost effective even though a hassle to send it to the USA. Check first with anyone else as the wrong color will definitely devalue your rifle. Also, they won't likely reblue just the barrel as that would involve a complete dis-assembly - they will polish and reblue the entire barreled action and mag tube assemblies so all parts match. Good luck.

Anybody ever use Black Dimond Gunsmith in in London, Ontario ? I have a few guns I'd like to get reblued and I see from their site that they offer hot bluing, rust bluing and some browning finish.

Bluing is not a black art, good results are the product of a lot of hard work in the prep. Many people are not willing to pay for the hours and hours of polishing to achieve high end results.

Check out Ryan's gun bluing he is in N-B he does really nice work , PM me if you want his contact you might also find him on google he has a facebook page he has very reasonable prices.

Yup. Jason is the best currently still doing it IMHO. He offers "better than factory" caustic bluing and he also does old-style rust bluing, but that costs A LOT more (very labour intensive).

It it's a 94 carbine, I would not worry about collector value. As a worn gun, it's a $400-600 gun AT BEST. Rebelled to as-new, it's competing against a new Miroku at $1200.

Here are some pics from my safe of Gunco bluing:

I don't have any photos right now of his rust bluing, sorry. This is all hot caustic/salt bluing.

FWIW, they did the engraving as well.
