I've had a copy of that book sitting on a shelf for decades. I didn't realize who the author was...I have also long admired the wildlife dioramas in the AMNH, which I now have learned he was largely responsible for completing after Carl Akeley's death.James L. Clark is also the author of "The Great Arc of the Wild Sheep", an excellent accounting of the wild sheep species from North American desert bighorns in the south, north through the thin horn sheep species, across to the NE Russian/Asiatic bighorns and sweeping southwest through the ranges of the Argalis and Urials to the Mouflon on the Middle East. It's a book well worth reading and owning.
Not just any yaks, high quality yaks.In the late 1970s a fellow brought a cow and bull yak to the Yukon intending to raise them. The bull got away and was never recovered; I don't remember what became of the cow. There's a yak farm in Wildwood, AB. Here's the link:
