If you were rebarreling a hunting rifle (sporter contour), who would you go with? Who have your favorite makers been?

Most of my barrels were from the late Bevan King.
Since then, I have used Krieger, Benchmark and Wilson (carbon fibre). Happy with all to date.

Other barrels on rifles built by others that I have acquired include McGowan and MacLennan. Haven't shot the McGowan as yet as waiting on some of my own modification from Rocky Mountain Rifles, and the MacLennan is the most accurate rifle I own.

I don't know if Ted Gaillard in Saskatchewan is still making barrels. I installed a lot of them and they had the straightest bores of any barrels I have encountered... and I have installed a lot of Lilja, Kreiger, Benchmark, Shilen.

Jim Dugan is bolting up a KS Arms for me. First one for me, on his and others' recomendations .
I have probably put more of Ron Smith's barrels on my rifles than any other, but I also have Shilens,Kriegers, Maclennons, McGowans , and my current favourite is a benchmark.
My son is a big fan of Jury barrels

Bob Jury all the way! I have 4 for his barrels and they are great. I had one Ted Gaillard barrel and it was great as well........I support the Canadian barrel makers.

Mike Rock (Rock Creek Barrels) 5R barrels have been good to me. Always fast and very little fowling. My new KS Arms has impressed as well in 35 Whelen.

Last one was JC custom and it is one of the best barrels I have ever purchased.

Other ones have always been Brux. Good as well.

Paul Cook is installing a KS Arms 243 barrel for me based on his recommendation. Have a Krieger 243 1:8 that is amazing.
Have an IBI on my CZ 455 and it transformed that rifle. So much so that I asked them for a barrel for my 222. Paul is currently installing that.

Really good experience with Lilja 3 groove if I remember right and a Bartlein both 13 twist 308 and both 20". Shot 168 Amax and BTHP.
Had a bad start with a Hardy carbon 6.5CM and even at around 400 rnds down she is not close to the other two barrels.
Very good performers are two rifles I have with Lothar Walther barrels in 308, just ultra reliable accuracy.
Had one cut Border Barrel in 243 that shoots very good from day one.
Had one Hawk Hill barrel in 6.5CM that was just wasted on me and I sold it to a young Irish lad to use in PRS World champion ship in France last year. He is delighted with the rifle.

Ted hasn't made any in quite some time as far as I know. I really liked the guy, his no BS talk and that I could get him to both make a barrel and install it himself sure didn't hurt either. He's local to me too.

I have a Bevan King on my .35 Whelen. A Ted Gillard on a .260 Rem target rifle. A pre-fit Shilen on my .35 Rem. A .243 Bob Jury on the bench and a Benchmark being installed on a Kimber. The Bevan King has been the best for far. For some reason, the Ted Gillard on the .260 won't shoot. I got so frustrated that I haven't touched that rifle in like 10 years.

IBI barrels have worked well for me. Latest one in 6BR, these are the first few shots through this barrel, all with Varget in different weights and various bullets, 100 yds all sub 1/2"

Canadian company, No reason for me to look elsewhere
