Who made the "Rabbit" rifle

A friend of mine has a little .22 single shot. All it says is RABBIT and .22 long rifle. It looks like a mini Cooey 39. Can someone tell me who made these little fellas? Thanks

Yup it should be a cooey, is it a rabbit running across a field?? I had one a while back and it was a darn straight shooter and looked awesome when I redid it with walnut finish.

is it a youth sized gun? it says rabbit on the top of the reciever behind the breech?

if so, i have one, it's on it's fourth generation of this family, and as far as i can tell it dates to the 1920s.

Made by Cooey, sold thru the Ashdown Hardware stores during the 1920's and 30's. I believe Marshall Wells Hardware sold the "Sureshot" and Macleods Hardware the "Hiawatha"... but I've been known to be wrong in the past...

Yes, that's the kind my friend has. It was her Dad's. Does anyone know who made them.
