Who Make a good .22 LR ammo

For plinking @ 20 yards... I've used just about everything with good results in the 10/22. When I say "just about everything", that's because remington tends to give me feeding issues... as well as some 36gr HP bullets.

For serious accuracy, spend a little more on Eley or CCI Standard velocity...

Copper Plated HPs

I have a new Ruger 10/22 and seem to be having issues (failure to extract) only with copper-plated hollow points (American Eagle and Federal Bulk). With lead HPs and solids I haven't had any problems at all (with Remington and Federal).

I've only fired about 150 rounds so I'm hoping this will improve as I like the idea of the copper-plated to save on barrel fouling.

when i had my 10/22, most of the cheaper stuff was constantly failing, but when i started to use lapua standard club(the greasy one's:)) it cleared up alot of my ftf & fte issues.
an aftermarket extractor and factory mags really lessen them too.

I use the Federal 550-round bulk pack... I haven't had any problem, and they seem fairly consistent (for .22, considering it's not match ammo).

Maybe you got a bad batch?

BHD001,

You might want to invest $10 in a better extractor... solved most of my FTE... available trough Canadian friendly dealer such as Hawtech and Rimfire Sports and Custom...

Thanks- yeah I think I might. I was thinking about it, but your advice puts it high on my list, Sillymike. $10 is pretty compatible with my budget.:D

Is it hard to install?
